Footage of a belligerent Billy Goat menacing passers-by on the streets of a Brazilian town has gone viral making its grumpy hooved protagonist an unlikely internet star.

The furious animal was filmed attacking members of the public in a seemingly unprovoked rampage last week.

The video show the animal charging at residents forcing them to flee, hide behind cars and jump over fences.

The angry beast is even seen knocking one woman to the ground and attempting to charge at a couple on a moped.

The video, which has amassed over two million YouTube hits in a matter of days, shows the animal finally being captured and tied up.
