Conservative political commentator and author Nick Adams tweeted that Mr Trump "is looking better than ever before!! He’s getting in shape for 2024 and the liberals are freaking out!!"
He was subsequently mocked by Talking Points Memo founder Josh Marshall who tweeted that Mr Trump looked "confused, anaemic and like 100 ... seriously what’s wrong with these people. This is like the 10th Trumper today tweeting how Trump is looking amazing".
Vox journalist Aaron Rupar made fun of Mr Adams' comments by juxtaposing his comments with an image of dead Russian revolutionary leader Vladimir Lenin.

Mr Marshall added that it was "sort of unreal that the former prez is basically working as a greeter at a club in Florida," as images of Mr Trump posing with supporters at the club emerged.
Podcaster Tom Joseph said Mr Trump's eyes were "vacant" and "dead," adding that "his appearance is dreadful. His degenerative neurological disease has reached a point where he is brought out as a novelty item for Republican dog and pony shows".
Mr Rupar added to the mockery by comparing conservatives adoring point of view of the former president to Homer Simpson's delusions over his own appearance.
Conservative author and anti-Islam activist Birgitte Gabriel said Mr Trump "looks fantastic and stronger than ever!"
Despite the pushback, she doubled down on her praise, further tweeting: "President Trump is looking ENERGIZED and ready to go for 2024!! This is what 'Presidential' looks like!!"
She added that Mr Trump is "losing weight and getting in great shape, and it’s driving the left absolutely mad".
Tim Fullerton, director of digital strategy at the Interior Department during the Obama administration, sarcastically tweeted: "I truly wish I could look this amazing. So fit and so in shape. I’m drowning in my liberal tears over here."
