From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

A star-studded cast will perform Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report on Russian interference in the 2016 election, in the form of a live theatrical reading.

The cast of prominent Hollywood actors and Broadway talents will appear on Monday night for a one-time performance hosted by Law Works, a bipartisan group raising awareness about the special counsel’s report and the issue of Russian interference in US elections.

Featured actors include A-list celebrities like Zachary Quinto and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, as well as other appearances by Kevin Kline, John Lithgow, Annette Bening, Justin Long, Michael Shannon, Piper Perabo, Mark Hamil and Sigourney Weaver, among others.

Robert Schenkkan, a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, actor and screenwriter, put together the show appearing on Monday night, titled “The Investigation: A Search for the Truth in Ten Acts.”

The special counsel’s years-long investigation into Russian interference found Russia to have engaged in a multi-pronged attack on the past US presidential election, as well as outlined at least 10 possible instances in which Donald Trump obstructed justice throughout the probe.

A website teasing the event said Mr Schenkkan’s script had been “ripped from the pages of the Mueller report” and included an donation button “to hold President Trump accountable.”

“The Mueller Report represents a turning point in our democracy — it establishes probable cause that a sitting President of the United States committed crimes and that President Trump’s campaign knew the Russian government attacked our elections to help the President win,” the donation page reads.

Law Works will live stream the show on Monday night, which begins at 9pm EST.

The upcoming performance was first reported by Variety.
