Mr Biden reportedly insisted he has still not made a decision on the matter, the Associated Press reported.
Mr Biden, 75, is expected to be considered a strong Democratic presidential nominee if he runs.
He has repeatedly indicated in public he is considering a campaign.
But if elected in 2020, Mr Biden would be 78 on Inauguration Day - a concern for some Democrats.
The former Vice President to Barack Obama ruled out running for office in 2016 for a race that would have seen him pitted against Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.
This was partly prompted by his son Beau’s brain cancer diagnosis and subsequent death, aged 46, in January 2015.
While promoting his new book, “Promise Me, Dad”, late last year, Mr Biden declined to say if he would consider running for president in 2020.
“I want to focus on Beau and my grandkids. We'll see where it goes,” he said during an interview with NBC’s Today show. “I'm not closing the door. I've been around too long. I'm a great respecter of fate.”
“But who knows what the situation is going to be a year and a half from now? I don't have any idea,” he added.
