Donald Trump lauded alleged Fox News sexual harasser Roger Ailes as he lashed out at the network in an angry rant.

The president brought up the late Fox News CEO as he left the White House to attend a campaign rally.

It appeared that Mr Trump was angry at the network for earlier airing a speech from Barack Obama as he campaigned for Joe Biden.

“Fox is very disappointing, that they would put on this, this would not have happened with Roger Ailes,” said Mr Trump.

Mr Ailes died in 2017 at the age of 77 after being forced to leave the network amid sexual harassment claims in 2016.

The executive lost support from Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch after Mr Ailes was sued for sexual harassment by former anchor Gretchen Carlson.

Ms Carlson’s allegations were followed by a string of claims from women that Mr Ailes had groped them or demanded sex.

Mr Ailes denied any sexual impropriety and walked away with a reported $40 million pay off from the network.
