John Oliver calls Jared Kushner 'Harvard's shiniest mistake'

John Oliver branded Jared KushnerHarvard’s "shiniest mistake” as he mocked Donald Trump’s son-in-law for his recent comments on race.

The HBO host took a shot at Mr Kushner’s claims that black Americans have to “want to be successful” to benefit from the president’s policies.

“Well f**k you Jared,” said Mr Oliver has he attacked him on Sunday’s episode of Last Week Tonight.

“I guess we should all be applauding you for wanting to be born to a billionaire real estate developer, then wanting your father to pledge $2.5 million to Harvard not long before you were admitted and for wanting to marry the daughter of the world’s most successful liar,” he said.

“If only more black foetuses had your ambition and drive maybe they would be as successful as you.”

Mr Kushner sparked criticism when he appeared on Fox News last month and addressed race in the run up to election day.

“One thing we’ve seen in a lot of the black community, which is mostly Democrat, is that President Trump’s policies are the policies that can help people break out of the problems that they’re complaining about,” said Mr Kushner.

“But he can’t want them to be successful more than they want to be successful.”
