In one of the latest videos from Joe Biden’s presidential campaign, the former vice president and running mate Senator Kamala Harris were filmed reacting to footage of Donald Trump’s attacks on them.
The two and half minute video shows Biden and Harris laughing at, and refuting, the claims made by the president.
Biden tweeted: “Well, folks, @KamalaHarris and I watched some of President Trump’s remarks from the campaign trail — and it went just as you’d imagine.”
The video, titled ‘Joe and Kamala react to Trump’, has the masked pair seated apart watching clips from Trump rallies and other speeches.
When Trump accuses Biden of wanting to inflict a painful shutdown on the entire country, Harris quips: “This is painful.”
Biden agrees: “It’s painful just watching him,” he says, as Harris chuckles.
“He shut down the whole country, he is the king of shutdown,” Biden adds.
When a clip is shown of Trump falsely claiming that Biden would “destroy protections for people with pre-existing conditions,” the former vice president exclaims: “Can you believe this guy?”
Harris reminds viewers that the Trump administration is currently in court right now trying to get rid of the Affordable Care Act, which would eliminate protections for people with pre-existing conditions.
On Harris, a Trump ad is shown that claims that the Senator had run for president by “rushing to the radical left, calling for trillions in new taxes”.
“We have been so clear about this,” she responds. “We will not raise taxes on anyone who makes less than $400,000 a year.”
When Trump makes his claim that no other president has done more for the Black community than him, with the exception of Abraham Lincoln, the pair laugh.
Harris points out that one in 1,000 Black people have died from the coronavirus and that could increase to one in 500 by the end of the year.
She adds that Trump is the same guy who refused to condemn white supremacists.
Biden rounds off the video by saying: “Mr president, words matter.”
