Donald Trump’s youngest daughter, who was raised separately from her siblings, was questioned about Michael Wolff’s new book about life inside her father’s White House.
In Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, Mr Wolff claims most days the US president prefers to be in bed by 6.30pm watching his three TV sets while eating a cheeseburger and speaking to confidants and friends on the phone.
When pressed about Mr Trump’s penchant for McDonald’s by TMZ, she said: “That’s what he does, he loves McDonald's”.
“Does he eat it every night in bed?” the publication asked.
Ms Trump responded: “He wishes, right”.
Mr Trump’s weakness for fast food has been widely documented. The billionaire reportedly used to send his former bodyguard Keith Schiller to make furtive dashes to McDonald’s and has divulged his culinary tastes on various social media platforms.
This has included eating a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken while reading The Wall Street Journal and indulging in a McDonald’s burger and fries to celebrate winning the Republican presidential nomination.
Ms Trump, who is 24, was raised separately from the other Trump siblings and has been branded the “forgotten” Trump because she keeps a lower profile in the media than her siblings.
Ms Trump, who is the billionaire developer’s only daughter from his second marriage to Marla Maples, moved to California at the age of five and was brought up by her mother while her father and siblings were based in New York.
In a 2015 interview, Ms Trump said of her father: “I don’t know what it’s like to have a typical father figure. He’s not the dad who’s going to take me to the beach and go swimming, but he’s such a motivational person.”
