Taylor Swift has spoken out against a Colorado DJ who she alleges inappropriately groped her while at a meet and greet in Denver.

Swift has claimed David Mueller, a DJ for radio station KYGO-FM, reached under her skirt and grabbed her buttocks while the two were posing for a picture in 2013.

The pop star took to the stand in the civil suit and said she felt “violated” and that the incident “was horrifying, shocking”.

“He had a handful of my ass. I know it was him. I thought what he did was despicable,” she said in court, according to Buzzfeed.

“I am not going to allow your my client to make me feel like it is anyway my fault because it isn’t.”

The jury, made up of six women and two men, listened on as Swift spoke for around an hour.

“I’m being blamed for the unfortunate events of his life that are a product of his decisions. Not mine,” she said, the New York Times reported.

Swift was asked by Mr Mueller’s lawyers if he had groped her more than once.

“Other than grabbing my ass against my will, underneath my skirt, and refusing to let go, he did not otherwise touch me inappropriately.”

During her testimony Swift refused to criticise her bodyguards for not responding sooner and instead told Mr Mueller's lawyer she was “critical of [his] client sticking his hand under my skirt and grabbing my a**."

Mr Mueller’s lawyers turned their attention to Swift’s behaviour, asking why she had not reacted immediately and instead waited until she had greeted others before making a complaint.

Swift said she did not want to ruin the evening for her fans and had chosen to go into “auto pilot”.

Mr Mueller has denied the accusation and claimed he only touched her rib cage.

He first brought a lawsuit against Swift alleging that the pop star ruined his career with false accusations.

KYGO Vice President Robert Call confirmed that he had fired the DJ “for touching Taylor’s rear end”.

Swift has counter-sued Mr Mueller for assault and battery and is requesting symbolic damages of $1.
