Your support makes all the difference.Two students and one teacher were injured after a 14-year-old gunman opened fire inside a primary school in South Carolina.
Both of the injured students were transported to the pediatric center at Greenville Health System where they are being treated for non-life threatening injuries. The teacher is being treated to the AnMed Medical Center and was released from the hospital.
The father of the suspect was also found dead on Wednesday.
Law enforcement and emergency responders arrived at Townville Elementary in Anderson County on Wednesday just before after 2pm, WYFF reports.
Officials said that one teenage suspect has been taken into custody. EMS and LifeFlight are also responding to the scene. A SWAT team searched the elementary school and did not find any other signs of danger in the area.
The Anderson County Coroner's Office identified the suspect's father, 47-year-old Jeffery Osborne, 2 miles away from the school.
US Senator Tim Scott responded to the news in a statement on social media.
"My heart is sick for Anderson and South Carolina," he tweeted. "Praying initial reports of no loss of life remain true & for those injured and their families."
Townville Elementary School enrolls 286 students in pre-kindergarten through the sixth grade and located near the Georgia border.
