A school bus driver crashed into a tree before reversing into another and driving off with pupils on board.

Francelle Fleurine, 34, finished her route despite the vehicle’s rear window being shattered by the collision.

Massachusetts police have cited the bus driver over the crash in Raynham, a town about 30 miles south of Boston.

She has also been sacked by the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District.

Police said Fleurine, from Attleboro, was transporting at leat 10 Raynham Middle School students when she struck the first tree Monday afternoon.

She then backed into a second tree, smashing the bus’s back window, before continuing to take students home.

Footage filmed by a pupil showed a shattered glass scattered around the bus and pupils screaming as the vehicle moves.

No injuries were reported.

Officers were called to the school at about 3.30pm after receiving a report of the crash. They said Fleurine told authorities she was running late on her route.

School district superintendent Derek Swenson apologised to parents for driver’s “absolutely unacceptable” conduct.

In a statement posted on Facebook, he added: “Raynham Police cited the driver and then the individual was relieved of all driving duties within the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional District.”

Fleurine was issued a citation for leaving the scene of an accident and a parking offence. Police said she will be summonsed to appear at Taunton District Court at a later date.
