All 59 passengers and five crew members aboard the LC Perú were unharmed in the landing.
A video shows the plane sliding along the runway, sending sparks and flames as its nose was dragged along the tarmac.
It eventually comes to a stop and emergency rescue vehicles can be seen speeding towards it.
The Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 was flying between Lima and Ayacucho when the landing gear failed as it approached the airport on Sunday.
The pilots decided to return to Jorge Chavez International Airport in the capital, Lima, where the plane made an emergency landing.
The airport was closed and flights were being diverted as authorities carried out investigations.
