Los Angeles County prosecutors are considering whether to bring sexual assault charges against Kevin Spacey.
The district attorney’s office said it was reviewing allegations presented by sheriff’s investigators on 5 April. No additional details were provided.
The 58-year-old actor is also under police investigation over alleged sexual assault in London.
The Academy Award-winner was first publicly accused of sexual misconduct in October.
He has not yet been charged with any crime but the allegations brought his career to an abrupt halt.
Spacey was swiftly fired from Netflix political drama series House of Cards and his role in Ridley Scott’s film All the Money in the World was recast. All other future projects were shelved.
The actor apologised to his first public accuser, actor Anthony Rapp, for his ”deeply inappropriate drunken behaviour”. But he said he did not remember his alleged sexual advances, said to have taken place when Rapp was aged 14.
Spacey added he was seeking treatment, although he gave no details of what type.
In January police in London confirmed they were investigating a reported sexual assault by Spacey on a man in Westminster in 2015.
London's Old Vic theatre also said it had received 20 personal testimonies of alleged inappropriate behaviour by Kevin Spacey, who was its artistic director between 2004 and 2015.
Spacey’s attorney Todd Rubenstein did not immediately return an email seeking comment from the Reuters news agency.
