Teenage social media star Hannah Stone has died suddenly.

The 16-year-old, who was a popular vlogger on the live streaming website YouNow, died on Wednesday just two weeks before her 17th birthday.

Hannah, who was from New York, passed away in hospital with "with her loving family by her side” according to an obituary posted on Dimbleby Funeral Homes website.

The teenager is reported to have taken her own life.

Hannah was a talented singer and had 375,000 fans on YouNow, using the live video streaming website to post footage of herself performing.

She also wrote her own lyrics and her original song, the 5quad song, has been viewed by 72,000 people. The song was dedicated to social media group 5quad, which has since been disbanded.

Since September she appeared to take a social media break only posting once to her 25,000 Twitter followers. Thousands of her fans have been tweeting their condolences, including famous Youtubers such as @bruhitszack who tweeted pictures of Hannah and himself.

He said: “Such a talented beautiful amazing girl! RIP Hannah ur in a better place now”.

YouNow’s official Twitter account also added to the condolences, posting: “Deeply saddened to hear about Hannah Stone.Such a beautiful, talented spirit who will always be in our hearts. RIP angel.”
