Malachi Love-Robinson, 18, was arrested on Tuesday after an ongoing investigation, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. Officials said that the suspect called himself a certified naturopathic doctor and even opened his own clinic in January.
Family and friends of Mr Love-Robinson called the Florida Health Department fearing that the alleged malpractice would "injure someone or their children,” WPBF-TV reports.
"It's just jealousy," Love-Robinson told the station. "Any time anybody has something to say about somebody, it's because they're successful.”
A description on healthgrades.com described Dr. Love-Robinson as a “well-rounded professional.”
“I am a well rounded professional that treats, and cares for patients, using a system of practice that bases treatment of physiological functions and abnormal conditions on natural laws governing the human body,” the site reads.
The biography does not list any schools or professional medical credentials in “Dr Love-Robinson’s” name.
"I utilize physiological, psychological, and mechanical methods, such as air, water, light, heat, earth, phototherapy, food and herb therapy, psychotherapy, electrotherapy, physiotherapy, minor and orificial surgery, mechanotherapy, naturopathic corrections and manipulation, and natural methods or modalities, together with natural medicines, natural processed foods, and herbs and nature’s remedies.”
It's unclear if this is "Dr Love-Robinson's" first offense.
Back in January, West Palm Beach police stopped a young black teenager for posing as a doctor for more than a month, the Florida Sun-Sentinel reported. No charges were filed as the teen had not treated any patience during his time at the local hospital.
