Your support makes all the difference.An eight-year-old boy excitedly playing with his box-fresh Nintendo DS on Christmas Day received a shock when he found it was full of pornographic images.
Tom Mayhew had bought what he thought was a brand new gaming device for his son who was thrilled to find it under the tree on Christmas morning.
Later in the day the family’s festivities were disrupted however when the boy - along with children from his extended family - were taking pictures on the inbuilt camera.
When Mr Mayhew’s son opened the file to view the pictures he found that there were a number of images already on there, all of which were of a graphic sexual nature.
“It was a shocker because we had family here, and there were a lot of kids here,” Mr Mayhew, from Virginia in the US told news channel WAVY. “The kids were the ones that discovered those pictures.”
“There is no reason for them to be even really on there. It's disgusting for one. It seems that this was the only thing left on it.”
At first, Mr Mayhew, who had purchased the device from his local Walmart, thought that it might have been a mistake made by Nintendo, the manufacturer.
However, after checking the timestamp of the images - dated from early December - Mr Mayhew now believes the item had been returned to the store and resold, with the images still on it.
WAVY has asked Walmart for a comment on the incident but has not yet received a response from the retail giant.
