Your support makes all the difference.A 19-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly trying to provide support to Islamist insurgents fighting in Syria and Iraq.
Shannon Conley, 19, from Denver, attended military training before trying to fly to Syria to meet a man she met online, according to a criminal complaint filed with the US District Court in Colorado.
The suitor, identified as “Y M”, apparently told her he was an active member of Isis.
Court documents said Ms Conley and Y M shared a view of Islam “as requiring participation in violent jihad against any non-believers” and said they decided to get engaged.
Her father told an official he had declined a Tunisian man’s request for a blessing to marry his daughter.
Agents arrested Ms Conley in April as she prepared to board a flight, court papers said.
Officials began to investigate Ms Conley after the pastor at Faith Bible Chapel in Arvada, Colorado, alerted police to a woman suspiciously taking notes of the layout of the church’s campus.
