A daughter investigating suspicions her mother's boyfriend was having an affair found thousands of naked pictures and videos of herself on his computer, it has been claimed.

Matthew Bordeaux, 48, is alleged to have installed hidden cameras inside in her bedroom and the bathroom of their home near Miami, Florida.

He had lived with his partner and her daughter "as a family" for seven years, according to court documents.

The daughter, whose name and age have not been made public, reportedly began investigating Bordeaux because he had been "acting strangely".

She found the footage and pictures after looking through his "hidden" files on their family's shared computer, reported the Sun Sentinel.

One video showed her undressing in her bedroom and another showed her getting out of the shower.

Detective Kari Norwood said Bordeaux had installed secret cameras in a wall socket in the daughter's bedroom and in an AC adapter in the shared bathroom.

The daughter told police Bordeaux had given her the socket when they moved house in early 2017 and told her it was too expensive to leave behind.

The camera contained a memory card that "would require the defendant to remove the camera in order to transfer the files to his computer and then reinstall the camera afterwards," said papers filed to Florida's 17th Judicial Circuit Court in Broward County.

The daughter said she had never given Bordeaux consent to install the cameras.

He was arrested on Sunday and appeared in court charged with two charges of video voyeurism.
