As the Biden administration scrambles to punish Russia for its assault on Ukraine, Congress confirms a new Supreme Court justice and the 6 January investigations steadily heat up, The Independent is launching a new US morning headlines newsletter to keep you in the know.

As the day begins US morning headlines will bring you up to date with the biggest stories, exclusives, explainers, and the big questions of the day.

The newsletter will be written by me, Andrew Naughtie, and will feature the best reporting from our teams in Washington, New York and beyond.

Like our UK morning headlines and US evening headlines newsletters, the email bulletin will also include a quote, number and video of the day.

To sign up and start your day in the know, add your email to the sign up box at the top of this article or via our newsletters page. US morning headlines will land in your inbox at 7am ET every weekday.
