The homes of Kansas City Chiefs players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were burglarized last month, according to reports.
Both incidents occurred the day before and the day after October 7, when the Chiefs played at home against the New Orleans Saints, WDAF reported. Pop star Taylor Swift was in the crowd cheering on Kelce, her boyfriend.
A bodyguard reported the burglary at Mahomes’ residence in Belton just after midnight on October 6, Cass County Sheriff’s Office told WDAF. There was no sign of forced entry into the home, where the star quarterback and his wife Brittany Mahomes live, according to a police report obtained by KSHB 41.
It’s not immediately clear what was stolen, if anything.
Meanwhile, a reported burglary occurred at Kelce’s home in Leawood on October 8.
The break-in happened at around 7.30pm on October 7, as the Monday night football game was underway, according to a police report obtained by KSHB 41. The police report also claimed that the back door of his home was damaged and that $20,000 in cash had been stolen.
It’s not immediately clear how much was stolen or whether they were targeted by the same criminals. Neither Kelce nor Mahomes has publicly commented on the incidents.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has been dating Swift since summer 2023. The romance started after Kelce confessed that he tried and failed to give Swift a bracelet with his phone number on it during one of her Eras tour shows.
After that, the pair continued to make headlines when Swift attended a series of Kecle’s football games. However, she didn’t confirm they were dating until December 2023 during her interview with Time, when the publication named her its “Person of the Year.”
Kelce and Swift’s public relationship has stayed strong throughout the last year, with the football star attending his girlfriend’s recording-breaking tour multiple times. Her tour will officially end this year, with her last show in Vancouver, Canada in December.
Since the start of the 2024 NFL season in September, the Grammy-winner has continued to cheer on her boyfriend in the stands, even attending some games with her parents, Scott and Andrea Swift.
Throughout her relationship with Kelce, the “Shake It Off” singer has also formed a close friendship with Patrick Mahomes’s wife, Brittany Mahomes. The two friends often sit in Kelce’s family suite during the Chiefs’ games at Arrowhead Stadium.
Brittany is currently pregnant with her and Patrick’s third child. The couple already share a three-year-old daughter, Sterling, and a one-year-old son, Patrick, who goes by the nickname Bronze.
