Michigan police arrested a 58-year-old male suspect on Thursday who allegedly carried out a shooting across multiple locations in the town of Saline, including an assisted living home.

Saline police vehicles were seen at a United Auto Workers hall, as well as at the Linden Square Assisted Living Center, Fox 2 Detroit reports.

“Saline Police responded to an active shooter situation at Linden Square Assisted Living Center. Additional details are forthcoming,” police wrote on Facebook. “City and school facilities went on a temporary lock down in response. At this time, it is believed there is no further threat to the community.”

Two victims were taken to local hospitals in critical condition, according to Huron Valley Ambulance, WXYZ reports.

The victims included a 40-year-old woman who is in critical condition, and a 55-year-old man who is in stable condition.

A third person, whom the 58-year-old suspect crashed into while fleeing police in a vehicle, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to CBS News.

A local resident told Detroit News the shooting appeared to be a domestic incident between residents who live across from the assisted living centre.

All residents of the facility are safe and accounted for, CBS reports.

Officials have cordoned off the parking lot next to the facility and have evacuated residents while they investigate the crime scene, according to MLive.
