Your support makes all the difference.Chile's late dictator Augusto Pinochet amassed a fortune of US$21m, of which less than 10 per cent could be accounted for by his salary, according to a study ordered by the country's Supreme Court.
At the time of his death in 2006, Pinochet was being investigated for tax evasion and human rights abuses from his time as military ruler in the 1970s and 1980s. More than 3,000 people are believed to have been killed by the security forces during the Pinochet era.
