A former Playboy model has been found strangled to death in a Philadelphia area condo, just days after a reported robbery.

Christina Carlin-Kraft was found Wednesday evening by officials conducting a wellness check in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. Police say that neighbours of the deceased 36-year-old do not have any reason to be concerned.

“There does not appear to be any current concern for residents in the area,” Kevin R Steele, the Montgomery County district attorney, said in a statement announcing the homicide investigation. That statement was cosigned by Michael McGrath, the Lower Marion Township Police Superintendent.

Ms Carlin-Kraft wrote in her Model Mayhem profile that New York was her home, and that she had been featured in photo shoots for Vanity Fair, Victoria’s Secret, Playboy, Maxim, and QVC.

“I really do enjoy photo shoots for swim wear and tastefull (sic) lingerie,” she wrote on that profile.

An unnamed relative told the Philadelphia Inquirer that Ms Carlin-Kraft brightened any room that she entered.

“She was just a good person,” the relative told that newspaper. “And our family misses her dearly."

“This is just completely unexpected,” the relative said, noting that Ms Carlin-Kraft had moved to the neighbourhood and said she felt safe there. “We never thought this could happen."

Ms Carlin-Kraft is originally from southern New Jersey, and had worked as an interior designer in addition to working as a model.

The condominium where she was living at the time of her death was reportedly owned by her boyfriend.

Police did not immediately arrest any suspects in relation to the murder.
