Police in Wyoming, Michigan, have recovered and released surveillance footage inside the home of man who kidnapped pregnant woman and tortured her for five days before she was killed.
Details of the ends to which 31-year-old Brady Oestrike went in the days before he killed 25-year-old Charles Oppenneer and Brooke Slocum in July 2014 were revealed in a report more than hundreds of pages long that police have released.
The Detroit Free Press said that as a result of multiple interviews, police uncovered many bizarre and disturbing details about Oestrike, including what one person described as a fetish for guns. Police found many guns after he killed himself following a police chase on July 17
Until this point, it was never clear how long Oestrike had held Ms Slocum captive.
She was kidnapped after going with her boyfriend, Mr Oppenneer, to meet a man at Gezon Park to exchange sex for cash. The three had corresponded via Craigslist.
Mr Oppenneer’s decapitated body was found in woods near the park just before noon on July 16. Police used computer records to quickly develop leads and identify Oestrike.
Wyoming Police Chief James Carmody revealed that Oestrike, who he described as a gun fetishist, had hoarded whips, swords and bondage tools inside his home.
Police recovered a “sex slave contract”, stuffed toys tied with handcuffs and blood-covered underwear.
