The video was captured by a camera in the Ohio State Highway Patrol car which was parked on Interstate 75 while officers assisted a disabled vehicle.
The incident, on 8 January, reportedly shut down the interstate. According to a post on the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Facebook page, nobody was seriously injured in the collision.
The department urged drivers to ensure they abide by the rules of the road, stating “Ohio law requires drivers to move over or slow down and proceed with caution when approaching stationary public safety vehicles with lights activated.”
The video, also shared on the Facebook page, has so far had more than 276,000 views.
