Authorities confirmed that tracking the suspect’s cell phone, credit card purchases and receiving tips helped track down the missing girl after an Amber Alert was issued early Tuesday morning.
Danielle James, a VIP Taxi cab driver, told WFAA that she picked up the girl and her uncle just days before the Amber Alert was issued.
"When I seen his picture on Facebook, my heart dropped and my phone dropped," she said. "Tears just came running down my face. I picked this guy up!"
Ms James said that she picked up the pair at a local Wal-Mart and drove them to a Days Inn motel in Bossier City.
"Nothing seemed out of place. When you're a cab driver, you can kind of feel a vibe or negativity. I didn't feel none of that,” she said. “The little girl, she seemed jolly and happy and just ready to get where she going."
Benbrook police spokesperson Sandy Eubanks told Dallas Morning News that an FBI task force officer was shot in the leg but is expected to make a full recovery.
Law enforcement officials had not disclosed a motive for the abduction.
