At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. The helicopter came crashing down in a vineyard in Vinhedo, northwest of Sao Paulo, forcing the four people on board to flee the wreckage, according to Globo.
The bride was unharmed and continued on with the ceremony, while the pilot and two other passengers, a child and the photographer, suffered minor injuries, reports said.
Video footage appeared to show the helicopter in flames in the grounds of the venue.
A guest at the wedding said the helicopter had apparently lost control and “fell” out of the air.
Last year a woman in Brazil was killed on the way to her wedding when her helicopter crashed.
Rosemere do Nascimento Silva, from Sao Paulo, died along with her brother, a photographer and the pilot.
Her fiancé was waiting at the venue unaware of the crash.
The aircraft – a Robinson R44 model – crashed in a forested area not far from the football field where it had been scheduled to land.
