Your support makes all the difference.At least two people were killed and 22 injured when a concrete flyover in the World Cup host city of Belo Horizonte collapsed on to a bus and other vehicles.
The incident took place on a road that was expanded as part of the World Cup infrastructure plan.
The driver of the commuter bus, said to be a woman in her 20s, was among the dead, according to local media. Two trucks and a car were also hit by the structure.
Photographs of the scene showed the front of the yellow bus and what appeared to be a car crushed completely flat. Security camera footage showed there had been heavy traffic on the street below the overpass when it collapsed.
Witness Rogerio Alves said: “It was a scary business. I still don’t believe it… I was talking to my daughter when suddenly the viaduct fell at once.”
The accident happened about three miles from the Mineirao stadium, where several World Cup games have been played, including Costa Rica against England.
It is due to host one of the semi-final matches next week.
