Pennsylvania authorities discovered 12 children in the home of a man who has been charged with sexually assaulting them over the span of three years.

NBC10 reports the girls’ ages ranged between as little as six months to 18 years. The man is accused of assaulting them between 2012 and 2015, according to the Lower Southampton Police Department.

The 18-year-old victim gave birth to two of the children, allegedly fathered by the suspect, 51-year-old Lee Kaplan.

“This child gave birth to two other children thorugh an inappropriate relationship,” Lt John Krimmel said.

Police are investigating allegations that the 18-year-old had been "gifted" to Kaplan by another family when she was 14, according to the Bucks County Courier.

No identifying documents had been found for the girls in the house.

“Bucks County is investigating that along with other agencies to help identify their genealogy and who their parents actually are,” Mr Krimmel said.

According to the complaint filed by Lower Southampton police, Kaplan told his neighbours that no children lived with him.

The suspect is in custody and being held on $1m (£696,257) bail.
