Algiers bomb injures suspect

ALGIERS (Reuter) - A bomb exploded in central Algiers yesterday, seriously wounding a man believed to be about to plant it. A second bomb, by the Swissair office, was blown up by security forces. The offical news agency APS quoted witnesses as saying the man lsot a limb. An aviation source said that Air Algerie believes it was the target. The bomb went off 20 yeards from its offices. Alain Barbey, a Swissair manager, said: 'The bomb against our office was . . . packed round with sandbags in an apparently controlled explosion.' No one has claimed responsibility for the bombs or for attacks which have killed about 130 members of the security forces since last February.
