Your support makes all the difference.A woman who hated being called "babe" has been awarded more than pounds 5,000 by an industrial tribunal. Pauline Scanlon said she was subjected to a campaign of sexual harassment by Liverpool clerk of works Ken Leyland.
Mrs Scanlon told the hearing Mr Leyland lifted up her coat and brushed it against her bottom, put his hand on her knee and thigh while giving her a lift in his car, displayed soft-porn calendars on his office wall and called her "babe". Mrs Scanlon, 31, quit her job as an estates action develop- ment officer in Liverpool's Planning and Transport Department in July 1995 after lodging an official complaint. She said: "I just want to put it all behind me now. I have had to receive counselling."
