It seems snow isn't actually 'the perfect texture for running'

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

"It's the perfect texture for running, very low impact and it’s dry snow so your feet don’t get wet," the mercifully unnamed woman told KOIN News.
A few more seconds of jogging-based braggadocio ensues, with the pair saying how 'excited' they are to be out in the snow as a couple of 'California kids' not used to the conditions.
The camera then follows them as they run off in their high-end high-viz gear, only for one of them to slip and fall within 10 metres.
Initially clutching her back, the jogger then gives a reluctant 'I'm ok' thumbs up before limping off to internet fame.
Because interviewing people out of viral videos is now a thing, Deadspin has since spoken to the woman in the clip, asking her whether she has heard from friends and family about it.
"Dude, people are coming out of the woodwork," she replied. "When I called my parents last night, my mom and dad were apparently watching it on repeat and laughing hysterically to themselves."
