In the dramatic footage caught on camera, state trooper Joshua Kim is seen arriving just in the nick of time to pull a potential jumper from the edge of the Tydings Memorial Bridge that crosses the Susquehanna River in Maryland.
According to trooper Joshua Kim, he was carrying out a routine patrol when he spotted the unnamed man standing precariously on the side of the bridge.
Concerned, Kim decided to turn around to check on the man.
Kim realised that this could be a potential suicide case, and leapt from his car to act.

The video shows the man lift his leg over the bridge’s safety rails and give Kim a tentative wave before being dragged to safety.
Speaking to WBAL News after the incident Kim said: "Most of what you see in that video is me thinking on my own because I didn't want to go over the bridge with him, so I got down on my knees and pulled him back."
The footage has subsequently been posted on the Maryland State Police’s Facebook page, in celebration of Kim’s bravery.
Maryland State police spokeswoman Elena Russo told local news website Havre De Grace Patch, “It could have been tragic for both of them, It took a lot of courage putting his own life in danger.”
