The Foreign Policy program at Brookings hosts the US Ambassador to China for a keynote address to analyze questions and provide an on-the-ground perspective from Beijing on the state of U.S.-China relations.
Following his address, Mr Burns will engage in conversation with Brookings Senior Fellow and Director Ryan Hass and Fellow Patricia Kim.
It comes after President Joe Biden and President Xi Jinping participated in a summit meeting on 15 November in California in which the US Ambassador to China participated.
