From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. He said it felt āunbelievableā to be in a European final.
āI was just one when we first won it, 11 in ā76,ā he said. āSo really, for me, this is the first time to actually go to one.ā

āWe actually booked the flights when we were in the group stages,ā he said. āSo itās a gamble that paid off.ā
He added that he will āparty all nightā if the Hammers win.
āJust party, party all night,ā he said. āIāve got an early flight in the morning, but I might be missing that.ā
Andrew Hall, 54, from Surrey, said: āIf weāre celebrating I could be here for another week.ā

āWe drove 13 hours,ā he said.
āWe got the shuttle over from Folkestone and then drove through. So 13 hours door to door.ā
He said it had been āyears and yearsā since the team had had any major success.
āIf we win this tonight it will be mega for the fans,ā he added.
āIt has been years and years since weāve had any glory. And I think this is going to be it.ā
Dan Lee from Romford said he had spent more than Ā£1,000 on his trip to the final.
āAll in, over Ā£1,000, but itās what you do for West Ham,ā he said.
