SHARED showers in public school boarding houses are being replaced with individual cubicles as a result of the Children Act, reports the Sunday Telegraph. The Act recommends that the young be offered greater 'dignity'and 'privacy' in their bathing arrangements.

The Prince of Wales has ended his relationship with Camilla Parker Bowles so he can become King, says the Sunday Express. According to the newspaper the Prince's friends say he has ended the liaison after strong pressure from royal advisers.

The chief auditor for the Accounts Commission is examining alleged corruption in the Labour-run authority in the constituency of John Smith, writes the Sunday Times. The newspaper also reports that the BBC has halted the standard pounds 50 payments for MPs' radio and television appearances.

John Patten, the Education Secretary, is involved in a row with sports ministers over the amount of physical education taught in schools, claims the Mail on Sunday. They are angry at Mr Patten's suggestion that there is no room in the school day to have football, rugby and cricket taught as formal subjects.

All the tabloids boast exclusive stories involving the EastEnders actress, Gillian Taylforth, who last week lost a libel action over a report that she had oral sex with her boyfriend on the A1. Several include 'revelations' from previous boyfriends.
