World famous sanctuary for abandoned pets, Battersea Dog & Cats home, has teamed up with Royal Mail to celebrate its 150th anniversary.

A selection of re-homed animals are set to appear on millions of 1st Class stamps, as a tribute to the London-based organisation which began life as the ‘Temporary Home for Lost and Starving Dogs’ in 1860.

“Stamps featuring animals have always been extremely popular with collectors and non-collectors alike, and I think these wonderfully charming and expressive images are a great way to mark the achievements of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home,” said Julietta Edgar, Head of Special Stamps, Royal Mail.
