However, as is often the case with the UK's unpredictable climate, the good weather will not last for long. Meteorologists say the fine weather this month will be followed by a showery May.
Easter Saturday saw a tropical 28C recorded at Wisley in Surrey, the warmest April day since 1949.
By the day of the royal wedding, temperatures were a little cooler, although still unseasonably warm for the time of year. In Brighton, sunbathers enjoyed a balmy 19C yesterday.
