David Hartnett, a freelance writer, was born in London in 1952 and now lives in Sussex. His poems have appeared in The Forward Book of Poetry and The New British Poetry, an anthology published by Bloodaxe. His previous collection was Dark Ages, published by Secker & Warburg in 1992.
