But since Home Secretary Theresa May has ruled out London and Edinburgh sharing intelligence as they do now, the most pressing task may be building a Scottish spy network. The Sunday Times reports that the Scottish National Party has appointed a senior civil servant to advise on setting up its own spy agency, adding that potential recruits could be found at Scots universities.
But it begs the question: what happens to the real-life James Bonds (Ian Fleming’s character has Scottish blood) now working as UK spies, who choose to work for Scotland knowing, as they do, all of London’s secrets?
