WEDDINGS HITCH: Marriages can take place in the House of Commons crypt but only under a special licence for Church of England ceremonies, Tony Newton, the Leader of the House, said. He was responding after a row over the Labour frontbencher Keith Vaz being refused permission to marry Maria Fernandes in the 13th-Century crypt chapel. The couple are Roman Catholics.
