The senior Labour leader was reportedly involved in a collision with a vehicle as she rode around Parliament Square in Westminster.
It is understood an ambulance was called to the scene and Ms Thornberry was later taken to receive treatment at hospital.
A spokesman the Islington South and Finsbury MP told The Independent she had since been discharged from hospital.
“Emily is hugely grateful for the support of the ambulance crew and A&E staff who have helped her since this accident”, he added. “We hope she will be back on her feet, back to work, and back on her bike as soon as possible.”
Scotland Yard said the accident happened near Storeys Gate.
"Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended," a spokesperson said. "The female cyclist was taken to hospital for treatment."
