David Cameron's hot weather hay fever misery

The spring heatwave has been welcomed by many people across the UK, but David Cameron has revealed he has been struck down by hay fever as a result.

The Prime Minister had to take medication to combat the condition before appearing on TV.

He said: "There's obviously one or two plants that, when they flower, hit me and so, just this morning, I woke up and I had it."

He told Eamonn Holmes on ITV's This Morning: "One of your people has just given me a pill, so hopefully that will sort me out."

Hay fever is caused by an allergic reaction to plant pollen and affects around one in five people at some point in their life.
