Police investigating the killing of the schoolgirl Naomi Smith were granted a further 36 hours to question three men by magistrates in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, last night.

Earlier yesterday a second man was released following the initial arrest of five men in dawn raids on Thursday. All five were thought to be in their mid-twenties and from Ansley Common, Warwickshire, where the 15- year-old lived and was killed
