The improved weather will be good news for those attending the Epsom Derby this weekend, where it should be sunny and without rain.
The Met office told the Daily Telegraph temperatures could be in the low 20s, possibly touching 25C by mid week - the highest temperatures of the year so far.
Lindsay Mears from the Met Office told the newspaper: “Friday will be warm in the South and Saturday and Sunday will be nice and pleasant with sunny intervals, although cooler than Friday with higher winds.
“Epsom looks nicest on Friday, with warm, sunny conditions, with Saturday in the high teens and sunny intervals - and it doesn’t look like rain either day.
“Next week starts warmer with bright, dry conditions for most and temperatures in the low 20s possible - although perhaps more cloud than the weekend.”
