This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.

The Independent is trusted by 27 million Americans from across the entire political spectrum every month. Unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock you out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. But quality journalism must still be paid for.

This is the moment when a passenger in a moving car pushes a cyclist off his bike. The perpetrator, seen in a blue-striped t-shirt, leans out of a car window and shoves the cyclist towards the bushes on the side of the road.

As the passenger prepares to push his victim, a male voice - allegedly the man filming the video - can be heard saying, “Alright boys, this is the new challenge here”.

After the man has been pushed off his bicycle, shrieks of laughter can be heard from the passengers.

Eoin Maughan uploaded the video to Facebook on Saturday. It had more than 750,000 views and 6,000 likes before the website removed the video.

Mr Maughan allegedly claims the video does not belong to him and that he was not involved in the incident.

This is how he reacted to the video being reported and removed.
