UK weather: Dense fog to cover country before scattered showers

Your support makes all the difference.Following an exceptionally mild and sunny weekend for most of the UK, the weather looks set to change. Sunny skies will be replaced with clouds and some scattered showers moving in from the south west of England.
According to the Met Office: "The best of any sunny spells will be across the far north of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.” The east of England will see mist and cloud for much of Monday but will remain dry.
Heavy showers are expected to move in from the Atlantic in the south west, making their way north and east and spreading further as the day goes on. These should reach London and the south east by mid-afternoon.
Mist will linger on into Tuesday morning, but temperatures will remain mild and the weather will be dry. Clouds should lift slightly and there is the potential for some sunny spells as the low pressure lifts.
Wednesday will bring with it a “spell of heavy rain” as weather fronts come in from the west, which could lead to gale force winds along western coasts in the evening. Thursday looks as if it will be slightly drier but rain and winds may be set to return Friday, as we head into the weekend.
Temperatures will stay generally mild, with highs of 16 degrees in the south, and 12 degrees in northern England and Scotland. Average temperatures for this time of year are 11 degrees in London, making this week’s weather significantly warmer than usual.
