Twenty-seven servicemen have been killed to date in the war against Iraq. Here are their names in full:

Killed in action: 6

Sapper Luke Allsopp, 24 from north London and Staff Sgt Simon Cullingworth, 36 from Essex, both with the Royal Engineers bomb disposal unit; Sgt Steven Roberts, 33, from Bradford, shot trying to calm a civil disturbance with the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment; Lance Corporal Barry Stephen, 31, 1st Battalion The Black Watch; Royal Marine Christopher Maddison, based in Plymouth with 539 Assault Squadron; Staff Sergeant Chris Muir, 32, from Romsey, Hampshire, served with the Army School of Ammunition, Royal Logistics Corps and died dismantling munitions in southern Iraq.

Killed by 'friendly fire': 5

Flight Lt Kevin Main, a pilot, and Flight Lt Dave Williams, a navigator, both of 9 Squadron, died when their RAF GR4 Tornado was hit by a Patriot missile; Corporal Stephen John Allbutt, 35, from Stoke-on-Trent and Trooper David Jeffrey Clarke, 19, from Littleworth, Staffordshire, in their Challenger 2 tank; Lance Corporal of Horse Matty Hull, 25, of the Blues & Royals, Household Cavalry Regiment.

Killed in accidents: 16

Captain Philip Guy, 29, from Bishopdale, North Yorkshire; Naval Rating Ian Seymour, of Poole, Dorset; Warrant Officer Second Class Mark Stratford, Royal Marines; Marine Sholto Hedenskog from South Africa; Lance Bombardier Llywelyn Evans, of Llandudno, north Wales; Colour Sgt John Cecil, of Plymouth, Devon; Major Jason Ward, 34, from the Plymouth area, and Sergeant Les Hehir, 34, of Poole, Dorset died when their US Sea Knight helicopter crashed south of the Kuwait border on 21 March. Lt Philip Green, 31; Lt Antony King, 35, of Helston, Cornwall; Lt James Williams, 28, from Falmouth, Cornwall; Lt Philip West, 32, of Budock Water, near Falmouth, Cornwall; Lt Marc Lawrence 26, from Westgate, Kent and Lt Andrew Wilson died when two Royal Navy Sea King helicopters collided over the northern Arabian Gulf on 22 March. All six men were based at the Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose, Cornwall. Lance Corporal Shaun Brierley of 212 Signals Squadron died in a crash in Kuwait; Lance Corporal Karl Shearer of the Household Cavalry Regiment died when his light armoured vehicle slid down a crumbling bank and overturned on its way to relieve another troop.
