Two people have died after a plane crashed in a field near Overbury in Worcestershire.
A spokesperson for Aeros Gloucester, the company which owns the crashed plane, told The Independent there had been two fatalities.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police later confirmed the pilot and a passenger had died at the scene. There were no other people on board.
Two ambulances and two paramedic officers were sent to the scene but they were unable to save the victims.
West Midlands Ambulance Service and Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.
The single-engine aircraft came down on Bredon Hill around 12.45pm.
Eyewitnesses told BBC Hereford & Worcester they had seen the aircraft in a tree.
Superintendent Kevin Purcell said: “Police received a report at 12.49pm today.
“West Midlands Ambulance Service and Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service are also in attendance.
“The Civil Aviation Authority has been informed. Further information will be issued when available.”
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch said it was sending a team to investigate the accident.
