London's Stratford Centre was evacuated after a "suspect package" was found.

The centre said it had closed "due to an emergency" in a statement on Twitter.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed a "suspect package" had been found.

Officers investigated and the incident was later stood down.

The shopping centre later reopened.
